Oath of the Mystics
In the world the gods created, they've left to mortals Arcana, a means of understanding and manipulating the laws of creation. Paladins who follow the Oath of the Mystics swear to protect arcane knowledge and oversee the applications of magic against its abuse. While they understand that the arcane arts can ease and elevate the lives of the common man, they stand as bulwarks against the greed of sorcerer kings and lich lords that resulted in untold casualties in the past.
The warriors who answer this calling are usually studious guardians who hone their bodies and minds to understand and protect themselves against these wicked mages. Such paladins can often be found in service of deities of magic or under the employ of arcane universities, charged with protecting their libraries and forbidden vaults. Many swear allegiance to good-aligned dragons to protect their troves full of lost secrets that could devastate the world in fell hands.
Tenets of the Mystics
The tenets of the Oath of the Mystics task paladins to guard the lands against the misuse of magic. Seek Knowledge. Appreciate the nigh-infinite vastness of the realms and be voracious in learning new information. Impart Knowledge. Never withhold information from people that cannot be used to harm others or themselves. Be generous with sharing what you've learned from your experiences with people. Preserve Knowledge. Do not tolerate the destruction or the abuse of information. All knowledge must be preserved and any efforts to destroy or exploit them against the Jives of people must be subdued. Temperance. Steel yourself against the mellifluous voices of wicked creatures that tempt you with power. Might attained by simple means must be paid with an impossible debt.

Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.- Scholar's Revelation. You can use your Channel Divinity to open your mind to greater learning. As a bonus action, you grant yourself a +5 bonus on Arcana, Nature, Religion, and History checks for the next 10 minutes. In addition, in this state, you can spend a minute reading to finish an entire book or scroll.
- Spellsunder. You can use your Channel Divinity to sever the flow of magic augmenting the wicked. When you hit a creature under the effects of magic or a spell with a weapon attack, you can make an ability check using your Charisma modifier and your proficiency bonus against a DC of 10 + the spell's level. On a success, the spell ends early and the target is Incapacitated until the end of their next turn.
Aura of Spell Turning
Beginning at 7th level, your understanding of the arcane arts hone your aura and allow it to dilute harmful spells. You and friendly creatures within 10 ft of you have Advantage on saving throws against spells. In addition, for each creature that succeeds on their save, the caster (if they are also in the aura) takes ld6 force damage as the force of their magic reflects back onto them. At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 ft.Spatial Cleave
At 15th level, your control over the arcane allows you to cleave through space, opening a temporary rift in dimensions. As a Bonus Action, you can teleport up your movement speed to an unoccupied space.Governor of Magic
At 20th level, you wield the authority befitting the ultimate arbitrator of magical power. Using your action, you undergo a transformation. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:- You gain resistance to all damage from spells and magical effects.
- Your weapon channels magical energy that adds an extra damage die on a successful hit. If the target was concentrating on a spell, after taking damage, they automatically drop their concentration.
- When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack and deal damage to it, you can force it to make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, their attunement to a magic item is severed until they spend another Short Rest attuning to it.

Same Oath, Different Perspectives
Paladins of this Oath can be found in several different organizations. Although they may have all sworn this oath, not all share the same perspective. Paladins under the Azure Tower may view all magic users that do not serve Aetheria has dangerous or as abusing magic. Yet Paladins under a more neutral magic organization such as the Arcane Oath, The Black Towers Institute, or other such groups would have a more tolerant or objective view. Then, Those affiliated with the Grand Temple or other religious organizations may see all arcane magic users, or Arcanists, as dangerous.
