For the first few thousand days on Didome the human populations remained small and little recorded history remians. Much of what remains comes from the holy works of the major religions. Either descrbing thier founding or from tales and parabels from before the founding of the religion. What scholars do know is that on Didome there are 4 cradles of civilization: The
Nil Yeni lived around the
Tresbort Lakes, The
Yurk Tribe settled around
Ather Cresent Lake, The
Ancient Hiwash lived in the valley and hills around the
Der River, and finally, the
Hu-CId-Ire settled on the
Sol-Rel-Ace.
Creation myths of the ancient people
Each of the four early locations of civilization had a different creation myth. The
Ancient Hiwash believed that their ancestors were seeded across Didome like plant fluff on the wind. The
Yurk Tribe people claimed that their god
Yah Lah led them from the courted garden of
Garden of Tehth to Didome. The
Nil Yeni tell tales of
The First Descendants, a race of demi gods spirits who descended from their palaces in the heavens to live on the surface of Didome. Yet the Evil Spirit
Herms corrupted
Lok and convinced him to destroy the foundations of the
the Palace of Barsamin and crash it down on the ancient city of Prometheus. Priests of
Barsaminism use the
Promethean Crater as evidence of the validity of the first decedents. However, scholars recently pointed out that the
Promethean Crater bear many resemblances to the volcanic craters in the
Min Mountians.
Nil Yeni and the Tresbort Lakes region
Many tales and myths abound from the early time of the Nil Yeni. What is know about them for sure is that they settled the
Tresbort Lakes and surrounding rivers. Despite spreading out over a large geographical area, they maintained a common culture and connection by utilizing the abundant wind to travel around the lake system. During this age of blackness many myths were created explaining the founding of some of current cities. It was also during this time that the prophet
Da harka Darmin founded
Barsaminism. She essentially brought together and codified many of the local beilifs about the spirit world into a organized religion. This religion further helped unite the
Nil Yeni
Yurk Tribe the Di Dins Continent
What is know of the
Yurk Tribe comes from the teachings of
Yahlahism, the religion based on the ancient Yurk Tribes
Gra Ather Faith. What
Yahlahism claims is that the holy city of
Yursh is the location of the first city of the Yurk tribe. In the texts describe how Yursh was the only city in the vast empty wilderness of Didome, and all the tribe lived in the city for over 800 days. The Yurk tribe was believed to have a elected their leader the
Urk who would rule until the next election.
Yahlahism aversion to killing also comes from the Yurk Tribe who it is said would cast out any member who was found to have killed another member.
Ancient Hiwash and the Der River Valley
The least is known about the Ancient Hiwash tribes. Many of the modern Hiwash tribes claim that their gods scattered them across Didome to gather and farm from the land. Unlike the
Nil Yeni, the ancient Hiwash did not have easy access to a lake system and thus their culture remained less united. What scholars suspect is that for thousands of days the Hiwash people hunted the land and engaged in limited agriculture. Thus no major cities were founded and the population remained small and scattered across the land.
