Hantex

A hantex is a small type of Texbow. It is a small V-shaped piece of wood with two pieces of Bonder Rubber attaching a leather pouch to the top of the V. Most people on earth would reconize this a slingshot. However, on Didome a Hantex is a ancient item that has been able to be created since the time of the First Descendants.

Manufacturing process

The biggest challenge to creating a Hantex is acquiring Bonder Rubber. The Vulcard plant depletes the soil of sulfur and thus can only be grown in areas that have high sulfur content. For much of Didome, history this meant that most of the rubber production came from Plains of Vulc, the Barred Mountains, and the Min Mountains in Shadcress. Recently, Vulcard has been cultivated by applying powdered gypsum to the soil as a way to replenish the sulfur in the soil.

Raw materials & Components

The materials used to make a Hantex are very simple at there core. A study core material that can be shaped into a V or Y shape, and two pieces of Bonder Rubber. This meant that a handtex was very common in any area that had access to rubber.
