Ock Tide

The Ock tide is caused by the moon Ock. The tide is very weak but the time between high and low tides is very short. The typical tidal range is about 0.9 meters, and the time between high and low tide is 4 Earth hours. The tide comes in about as fast as a typical Earth tide. Since the Ock tide comes in about 8 times faster than the Ides Tide, the ock tide does not cause ocean to rise and fall noticeably . Instead when the Ock and Ides tides are rising the tide appears to come in almost twice as fast. When the Ock tide is falling and the Ides is rising, the tidal forces cancel each other and it appears like the tide has stopped coming in or out. People on Didome think of the Ides tide coming in or out in pluses followed by pauses.
