Duo Episode - Acquisitioned End
General Summary
On the morning of the 18th of Alturiak, after a snowball fight between Korvan and Lyra, they set out accompanied by Annatar, Dragonhollow, and Wolfhelm. They passed a few druids freeing a small animal from under a rock but found the day lacking in eventfulness. The next day they passed a circle of standing stones before Lyra met an Elf starting a hunt. She was there paying her respects to the stones. She told Lyra that the druids of the place were likely helping the natural life around. Arriving at Red Larch in the evening, they were told that The Swinging Sword was full for the evening and were sent to The Dran and Courtier.
Inside Korvan paid for rooms and food and were told by Dragon Hollow and Wolfhelm that they headed north to look for a diviner to help them locate Tokin. During a meal of duck, Prophetess Dran and Annatar struck up a long conversation; afterward they all headed to bed. Come the morning they walked out into the area above the common room and met Viari and Môrgæn. Viari jumped to a chandelier as Korvan rolled over the railing landing gracefully and sitting Lyra beside him. Môrgæn then ran down the stairs as she notched an arrow and then pointed it right at Korvan.
Lyra jumped back, knocked over the chair and shouted, "no!"
A bolt of chaotic lightening rippled from Lyra's hand and struck Môrgæn as Viari ran to guard the door. Korvan then whipped Môrgæn's bow away as he and then Lyra made their way toward a window. 'Propha' came out from around the bar and asked for the blessings of Tymora as Viari drew his shortsword and apocalypse dagger. Korvan then snatched up Lyra and ran them across the tables.
Môrgæn then pointed and shouted, as a bear appeared before the door the pair ran to, "eat that little girl!"
Lyra pointed to Môrgæn and sprayed poison in her face before she ran up the stairs. Viari gave chase and demanded Lyra surrender but she rejected him with an insult. Môrgæn asked Korvan to surrender but as he refused the bear bit him. Korvan gave three cracks of his whip against Môrgæn and her bear disappeared just as Lyra threw fire on Viari and then ran beyond him at the bottom of the stairs.
Viari chased Lyra down with his shortsword and gave a cut shouting, "dammit injure me..." and gave two loud grunts after his dagger pierced her back twice.
Lyra had her spinal cord severed and she plummeted to the ground unconscious as Korvan casted darkness. Korvan then slipped behind the bar as Môrgæn placed an alarm spell on the door and and Viari drug Lyra's body away. As Viari drug Lyra's body, her blood poured forth and she died.
When Viari realized what happened, he cradled Lyra in his arms and plead desperately, "oh fuck! Drop the darkness, drop the darkness!"
Korvan dropped his darkness spell out of curiosity and saw in the reflection of the bottles above, Viari holding Lyra. Môrgæn begged for her bow as Viari refused to put Lyra down, horrified by what had happened. Korvan hopped oven the bar and blamed Viari for her death. Viari plead innocence claiming that they only wanted to talk but were attacked. They argued about who was at fault and Môrgæn even insisted, beyond her cold heart, that Lyra was a criminal but she would give her a good burial.
Then, Propha flung the inn's door open and pointed, "that's them!" Before she stepped aside.
Part Two
Three members of the guard rushed in followed by Omin and Jim who'd spent the night just out of town in an old farm house, as they weren't willing to travel an inch further. In the morning, they'd met Omin's mother in the town as they arrived and she brought them to the inn. They chased Korvan upstairs and there, Jim polymorphed him into a fish. They brought Korvan downstairs and as they discussed legality, they sent the guards away. It was then that Korvan slapped Jim with his tail and transformed back into a human. Jim lost his concentration and as he did Omin and Môrgæn cussed him. Môrgæn cut Korvan as Omin bludgeoned him with a mace. As blood poured from Korvan's crushed face, Jim prepared a spell and an apology to Omin. "Fuck, sorry guys," was the last thing Korvan heard as he gasped for air. Jim Darkmagic roasted Korvan's body as he death came to him. In death, Death of the Endless allowed Lyra see Korvan one last time and as they hugged, Korvan did his best convince Lyra to accept her shuffle off their mortal coil. Eventually, the pair were taken Kelemvor's City of Judgement and were judged individually to be faithless as Raphael offered them one last chance at life. Choosing instead to hold on to their last vestiges of honor, they were mortared into the Wall of the Faithless, the great barrier that bounds the City of the Dead, where their souls would slowly dissolve and become part of the stuff of the Wall itself.Missions/Quests Completed
