Episode Ninety-one - Rat's Bane

General Summary

Part One

Come morning, the group met a lost caravan from the Kingdom of Pueblito. Bree greeted them, Varian gave them directions, and Thwip accepted their payment for aid. The group then climbed down and met fancy rats but they were unsure what the creatures were about or why they existed. Tirith then questioned the sanity of existence.
Given darkvision by Varian the party then explored. the dungeon beyond. They faced a locked dragon door and then a few keg monsters, so named by Tirith. After freeing those elementals, they told Thwip, whom spoke their tongue, that the group were of the blood. That Tirith and Varian were evident but that Bree was more distant to them and that Thwip was a highly mutated member.
After that strange encounter, they met a kobold named Meepo who took them to his leader. They made a deal to retrieve the tribe's pet dragon and set off. The party found a letter in skeletal armor, after the skeletons collapsed into the dragon mark, and the letter read: the armor of a champion, the one of Heironeous, lies on a rock not far beyond. The back of the letter held a map to rock and denoted the chainmail.
The party then fought off several rats and one large beast of a rat among them. Bree, Tirith, and Varian were all gravely injured in the fight.

Part Two

The party check a ranger's body before leaving and found his ring among other things, including four apples. They retreated to a new camp site where they rested to heal from their wounds. Varian mended the plate armor he and Tirith had gathered, other object for later sale value, and eventually the party's gear. Bree spent her time reading the two books they found, The Book of the Elegy and The Book of Dragonsight. On the first night, the night of the 28th of the Wolf, meteor
Having had some magic apples the night before, the group awoke restored. They then headed back into the Fallen Citadel and met up with Meepo, whom Bree kissed on the cheek for saving her, twice. They then encountered a goblin named Pojalk Cragrarg Wartcheeks Bentfeet Mckguck, whom they call him Poe. After reasoning with the goblin, they were allowed past but the next set of guards rejected their movement and called to the others.
"Smugbone what's this all about?"
"Its for an ambush!" Smugbone replied.
The party then fought ferociously to work their way back out of the ambush but Tirith was wounded in the fight. After a brilliant battle, the party pressed on and freed three awful kobolds who were mean to Meepo and a Ghaerdfut named Erky Timbers. They told him of their original camp and he healed them and offered to stay near their exit. They then encountered a white dragon wyrmling and it killed Meepo and froze Varian. Truly dead, Varian found himself on a moon, facing his goddess' voice. She asked him to watch Bree and make sure she didn't grant Loki power in the domain of her pantheon. The offered him the deal she made with Aefdarnihfe who could will him to life.
On Bree insistence, Tirith then wrestled the dragon, Thwip used her dragon mark to formulate a plan, and Varian stood by, ready to kill the beast. The deal struck was that the dragon would serve them for a year and a day, as with the old ways, and then it would be free. It accepted and asked for a finger on one among them in return. They put it on Bree and she chose the right pinky finger.
With the deal struck, they gathered three new dragon books and made their way further on, fighting goblins as they went. At the door of trouble, as Calcryx warned them of coming danger, the sound of a resonance rang in the party's ears as the dragon began to glow. Healed, they readied for more combat.
