Cabalist

Forbidden occult mages, cabalists combine the arcane studiousness of wizards with the natural psychic power of mentalists. Their study of the occult leads them down dark paths, and the illegality of their magic means they must always be looking over their shoulders. Because of this, most cabalists tend to be paranoid and evil, though it is not a requirement to become one. One must possess the psychic gene and a sufficient intellect for arcane magic to become a cabalist, but since few teachers exist, many a fool has attempted to learn the occult only to be destroyed by it...or by the mage-hunting Falconers once they catch wind of it.

Classes

Sorcerer, the default cabalist
Adjudicators, practitioners of law magic who sacrifice their free will to bring absolute order to reality
Alchemists, science-minded sorcerers who seek to master the laws of physics
Astrologists, reality-serving occultists who are shown a few secrets in exchange for protecting the material universe
Chirurgeons, medical mages whose healing powers often lead authorities to look the other way
Chronomancers, the most forbidden of all mages, they seek the secrets of time travel, but no planet has ever survived long enough for one to master it
Cosmologists, occultists devoted to maintaining the balance between reality and the astral, and order and chaos
Despoilers, chaos mages whose powers bring ruin to all they come across, and likely their wielder, too
Necromancers, reviled occultists who manipulate the dead as thralls
Nyctomancers, shadow mages who have dared to stare into the abyss
Orators, subtle sorcerers who interlace their words with manipulative magic
Pornomancers, sexual mages that use their powers to enslave others to their will
Spellbinders (Lamians only), dreaded illusionists that enslave others by imprisoning their minds in fantasy worlds
Summoners, occultists that summon forth and bind demons, totems, or kirins into physical form
Thaumaturges, wicked mages who enslave the very souls of their enemies
