Bespoke Weapons and Vehicles
In the army of the The Kingdom of X-Planet, to bring individual prowess and skill to the battlefield and peacekeeping operations is highly valued. With the values of adaptability and power in differences, the culture has evolved to harness the individual ingenuity of it's soldiers.
When a soldier has graduated significantly enough in rank, they will be granted permission to use a Bespoke Weapon in battle. For many, this is a chance to make use of and accentuate their individual physiologies and prowess although not all take the opportunity and are perfectly fine with using the mass produced vehicles and weapons. Largely speaking these bespoke equipment can be subdivided into two groups:
Ancestral Weapons and Vehicles are ones that have a lot of history to them, often having been originally crafted in the users family many generations prior. These are common in families with storied dynasties in the armed forces and to be granted the ability to wield a families ancestral weapon is a high honor. Additionally, as the weapon or vehicle is usually of known caliber, the process of passing testing and trials is a simple matter. Of course technology marches on, and standards change, so it is expected that the current user change the storied item to suit, most commonly by going to a Artificer's Guild. Some families are so storied as to have an exclusive Artificer's Guild for their weapons and vehicles only.
Neo-Model Weapons and Vehicles come with their own unique benefits and drawbacks. They are created whole-cloth for the user in mind usually to their specifications in conjunction with an Artificers Guild. For a fairly steep fee, of course. Because the process of creating them warrants its mostly one of a kind nature as well as the asking price, Neo-Model items are invariably leading the charge in terms of cutting edge technology and design. This however by no means guarantees approval by the Army, and should the item fail its trials, then it will not be approved of use on the field for the user. To gain approval, on the item, soldiers must undergo 12 rounds of trials with each more difficult than the last, in proving their expertise and skill in its use as well as the items reliability. It is a trial to prove a soldiers talent and worth and their Neo-Model is an extension of that.
