P.O.D

A Portable Omni-Device or P.O.D for short is a ubiquitous device and tool used to interface with and control a myriad of other technological devices all throughout X-Planet. They are designed to be accessible and easily understood, complete with gesture based and holographic interfaces. They may also be used to communicate and send data from a distance by using the PODNET.
Various models exist, created by a variety of different manufacturers, and it is not uncommon for them to be personalized in various different ways by their owners. Some models are even outfitted with extra features such as cameras or the ability to play holographic games, as well as black market features like hacking.

Complexity

PODs are highly complex devices filled with very intricate pieces within. They are usually somewhat small and come with weak anti-grav devices, and 2 or more holographic projectors. Their interface ports are large and fit to be inserted into any other device that are compatible. Most models can only hold a very modest amount of data, things such as contacts, maps, small documents and nothing else, although specialty models exist that can hold much more, such as those used by the Greater Envoy of Facts and Findings whom can hold an inordinate amount of data from field research.
Varying by model, a POD can typically run uninterrupted for up to 8 days before either needing to recharge its power cell or replacing it.
