Haspien Nightshade
Wyrd Hapsien Nightshade (a.k.a. The Last Nightshade)
Haspien Nightshade was once an outsider due to his changeling-esque traits, which were a result of being altered by a Fey. He endured an extended period of pain during his durance, but he learned to endure the pains of the world and commune with the very aspects of reality in order to throw that pain back upon it. As he grew in power and excelled in Fey hexes, he captured his previous captor and bound their power to himself.
His impressive feats eventually caught the attention of the manifestation of primordial and Fey magic, Wyrd, and though their encounters were at times confusing, Haspien drew up a contract that would exchange the title of Wyrd for "smidge" of land in the material realm. It took time, but eventually, the Fey Lord relinquished its title and allowed Haspien the joy of becoming an embodiment alongside the Third. This achievement became one of his most noteworthy before his ultimate overtaking by The Dark One.

Physical Description
Special abilities
Haspien Nightshade possessed a rare gift of harnessing the natural energies of the world to heal others, similar to the legendary healer Parnaxis. However, Haspien's focus was not solely on honing his healing abilities. He was intrigued by the idea of making contracts with various aspects of reality, becoming a conduit of power for some and a force of destruction for others. This philosophy allowed him to navigate the complex web of supernatural beings and their intricate hierarchies, as he used his powers to forge alliances and gain favors from those who could help him in his quest. Haspien was not afraid to use his powers for his own gain, but he also recognized the responsibility that came with such abilities. He believed in the principle of balance and made sure to repay the debts he owed, knowing that one misstep could have disastrous consequences. To Haspien, power was not just a means to an end, but a tool to be wielded with great care and caution.

Personal history
Haspien Nightshade was born into a family of high-ranking archivists in Kaira, and with such a prestigious lineage, he felt a sense of obligation to distinguish himself among the courts. However, his aspirations were cut short when he was approached by a mysterious nobleman who seemed to distort before his very eyes. Next thing he knew, Haspien found himself trapped in a strange realm, forced to endure a grueling period of time that he would later call his "durance."
Despite the challenges he faced, including being the grill on BBQ days and hiding his face during poker season, Haspien eventually managed to escape his captivity. However, he emerged from the experience significantly altered and cursed in ways he could not have imagined. This event marked the beginning of his journey down a path of dark magic and Faerie deals, leading him to become a formidable figure in the world of Fey hexes and drawing the attention of powerful entities such as Wyrd and the Third.
Despite possessing a great aptitude for primordial and psychic hexes, Haspien was not content with solely mastering these forms of magic. He recognized the value of expanding his knowledge and exploring other styles of magic, which ultimately led him to the Misfits. It was during his time with this group that Haspien's power truly flourished, culminating in the acquisition of a Ring of Three Wishes. With two charges, he used the ring to solidify his and Aurora's positions of authority in the world of Dionis, as well as bridge the previously isolated continent of Lynoa with the others.
In the end, Haspien Nightshade would face a tragic fate despite his efforts to defeat the Dark One. As he became attuned to the power of Wyrd, he ventured into the new universe along with Ibahn and the Dark Titan, hoping to finally vanquish the threat. With his new title alongside the newly appointed Third, Haspien leaped into battle with the Dark Titan, but the plan would quickly unravel. Before Ibahn could place the restraints given to him by Flint onto the Dark Titan, the creature leaped into Haspien's body, leaving the two trapped and restrained for an unknown amount of time.
Education
Haspien's formal education began at the prestigious Kaira's Higher Education Society, an academy renowned across the continent of Lynoa for its rigorous curriculum and selectivity. The academy's curriculum was divided into five main fields of study: Arcane Studies, Battle Tactics, History and Culture, Linguistics, and Trade and Commerce. Each student was expected to complete a minimum of three years in each field before specializing in one of their choosing. Haspien, with his noble background and thirst for knowledge, excelled in all of his studies, though he was particularly drawn to the arcane and history courses.
The academy was not just a place for education, but also a hub for social connections and political maneuvering. The students were largely from influential and wealthy families, and so the academy served as a breeding ground for alliances and rivalries that would shape the future of Lynoa. Haspien was no exception and quickly learned the art of diplomacy and subtle manipulation, which he would later use to great effect in his dealings with the Fey and other supernatural beings. It was at the academy where he first heard of the Fey and their enigmatic powers, and he became obsessed with learning more about them. Little did he know that this fascination would lead him down a path that would forever change his destiny.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Throughout his life, Haspien has achieved numerous accomplishments that have solidified his place as a powerful and respected figure. One of his most impressive feats was his ability to rewrite the contract that bound him to his captor, allowing him to transfer Fey power to himself. This accomplishment caused many Fey entities to both fear and respect him.
Haspien also attained the highly esteemed title of Wyrd, which granted him ultimate authority over all primordial and fey magic. With this title, he was able to dominate the minds of fey who were not old enough to stay out of his way. Additionally, he was able to reunite a set of matched earrings that had gone missing after the group killed its owner. This act led them deeper into The Depths auxiliary camps, providing access to a plethora of resources for the Continental Empire.
Another impressive achievement of Haspien's was finding the vampire dubbed "The Lone Madrigal," which granted him a set of Arch-Magi Robes. Lastly, he was able to break the changeling curse that initially changed his appearance, further solidifying his cunning and powerful abilities.
Failures & Embarrassments
Despite his reputation for possessing incredible powers of perception and insight, Haspien was not infallible. In a critical moment, he gave Nadhora The Ring of Three wishes with one remaining charge. As the Ring of Three Wishes was passed to Nadhora, Haspien couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. But he trusted his fellow misfit and let the ring go. It wasn't until much later that he learned the truth: Nadhora had deceived him, using her wish to further her own ambitions. For the first time in who knows how long, Haspien realized he had been blind to the true nature of those around him. Nadhora then used it to break the Dark One from its tethers by calling forth its forgotten name.
Mental Trauma
Despite his success at Kaira's Higher Education Society, Haspien Nightshade was ill-prepared for the mental trauma he would experience later in life. His fascination with the Fey and their powers led him down a dangerous path that culminated in an encounter that left him mentally scarred.
Following the traumatic event, Haspien developed a dpubt towards Fey magic and a deep mistrust of supernatural beings. He struggled to cope with the trauma, experiencing frequent nightmares and panic attacks. Despite his attempts to move on from the experience, it continued to haunt him, affecting his daily life and relationships with others.
Over time, Haspien sought out various methods of coping with his trauma. He turned to meditation and mindfulness practices to help calm his mind and manage his anxiety. He also sought therapy and support from trusted friends and allies, opening up to them about his experiences and seeking comfort and guidance.
Despite the long and difficult journey, Haspien eventually found some measure of peace and healing. Though he still carried the scars of his trauma, he was able to manage his symptoms and move forward with his life, using his experiences to help others who had gone through similar struggles.
Morality & Philosophy
Haspien Nightshade's morality and philosophy were shaped by his education, experiences, and interactions with others. He believed in the importance of knowledge and understanding, and saw himself as a seeker of truth and wisdom. He rejected fatalistic and deterministic views of the world, instead seeing life as a journey of self-discovery and growth. Though his wishes had some influx with the Misfits they were made with the people of Lynoa in mind.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
This drive for knowledge and understanding was not always the case for Haspien, however. At one point in his life, he was consumed by a desire for revenge. He sought to right the wrongs that had been done to him. But as he delved deeper into the world of magic and the supernatural, he began to see the interconnectedness of all things and the consequences of his actions. He realized that revenge was a fleeting and ultimately unsatisfying pursuit, and that there was much more to learn and discover in the world around him. This realization sparked a transformation in Haspien, as he shifted his focus from revenge to cultivating knowledge and curiosity.
