Faunus

The Faunus are chimeric creatures of Discordia whose lineage contains both human blood and the spiritual magic of an unknown predecessor. From the vulpine allure of the Vulpae to the quick, elegant Warren, Faunus can look considerably different from one another, but they all share animal and human characteristics.

The Magic of Nature

The Faunus' origins can be traced back to a hidden corner of Discordia where a group of humans fled in escape of the Great Void War. There, these refugees came into contact with a tribe of intelligent shapeshifting creatures who were greatly in tune with the world's natural magicks. These spiritual creatures welcomed the human refugess and eventually produced what has become known as the Faunus. Over time, the varied offshoots began to settle in different regions and naturally adopted different forms, settling into the Warren, the Vulpae, and the Vastayan.

Faunus Settlements

With great power comes burdens. Faunus are not exempt from mistreatment due to their powers or appearances and humans often will harm or kill Faunus. Most Faunus aim to protect magic and its misuse and find themselves at odds with power-hungry mages in recent years. As a result, the Faunus have become more reclusive, retreating into settlements with similar Faunus and safeguarding the natural magic of the world.

Age

In addition to their animal-human forms, Faunus are notable for their extremely long lives. Some have been known to live for thousands of years, while others claim to be immortal.
