The Wet Whistle

The Wet Whistle is a dive bar in the southern part of West Goven on Byrn Way. While the quality of the food and drink leave something to be desired, you will leave fed and drunk without it costing an arm and a leg.

Entries

The front door is the only entry to the tavern. The back door opens outward and the door is damaged so that, once it closes, it can't be opened again from the outside.

Sensory & Appearance

When Stephen is in the kitchen, the bar smells of smoked meats and old cheese. Maureen and Tabitha keep the establishment looking presentable, so there's no moldy smell, though it does feature the lingering smell of old, musty wood.

Denizens

Maureen Grundhause is always behind the bar while the business is open, while her husband Stephen is busy in the kitchen. The tavern employs a single young dwarf serving girl, Tabitha Zanakyrver. The tavern is usually full for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a few stragglers and drunks hanging around after dinner until closing.

Contents & Furnishings

There are three booth-style tables on the East side of the tavern that can comfortably seat four patrons each. The bar is on the West side with barely enough space between the counter and the bar for two people to navigate around one another. The bar has five wooden barstools.   The kitchen is stocked with an oven, cutting table, prep table, pantry and larder.

Architecture

An unassuming wooden building nestled between two rows of townhouses. There is a large, dirty window on the front of the building that at some point in the past was transparent but has become more and more opaque with mounting years of neglect. The front door leads directly into a small tavern with four tables and a bar.   A door at the back of the bar leads into a small kitchen while another door at the back of the tavern leads up to Maureen's living space.   Notably, there is no bathroom in the bar, but there is an outhouse around back and an exit door to the rear that only opens outward, so patrons need to circle back around to the front of the building to re-enter the bar.
