Dolanth

Dolanth is a small continent, about half the size of Australia. It is still recovering from the magical war of 250 years ago. Wild magic still ripples across the land in remote places and strange creatures roam free. The 5 Anomaly sites are areas of twisted landscapes and strange magics. None who enter ever return, at least that is what most people know.

The population of Dolanth was diminished greatly during the war and the consequent aftermath. Rebuilding has been a monumental task, scattered peoples, dangerous creatures and a changed geography have made life extremely difficult for the survivors. Even so determination and ingenuity have seen new settlements, towns and even a few small cities spring back up again. The leaders of the larger settlements have been trying to form a republic of sorts over the last few years to build and protect trade routes, to fight back against the dangers that still roam the land and to protect Dolanth from outside forces that would seek to exploit Dolanth's current weakened state.

Geography

Dolanth consists of several mountain ranges, a central desert, a large swampy/marshy region, several swathes of large forested regions and grasslands. It sits just above the equator so the weather tends to be warmer and snow fall only occurs in the northern mountain ranges.
