Gotō Genkei (Go-T-oh Gen-kee)
Genkei is the patriarch of the Gotō plan. In his younger years, becoming the Shogun of his country at only 22 years old. He married his lifelong friend and love, Gotō Yua. The two were infatuated and supported each other in their individual ambitions. Together they had a son, Gotō Asahi, who they put their hearts into their raising. They saw him as the next hope for their land.
At the age of 13, Genkei's manor was attacked by a horde of shinobi. During this attack his parents were slain. He managed to fight back and kill several of these assassins. Impressed by this feat and saddened by the loss of his long time friends, the Shogun (Ishida) took the young boy in and trained him throughout his teenage and early adult years. Genkei began seeing him as a father.
Genkei was a devout follower of the previous shogun, his death and the collapse of his clan shocked the young warrior deeply. The entire series of events was a calamity that could not be stopped by him, he blamed himself for that deeply. With bonds formed from his years of being a samurai, he took the place of the shogun and vowed to avenge the previous shogun. The son of Ishida joined Genkei as a right hand man shortly after this, seeing him like a brother given their similar ages.
With the thought of Revenge on his mind, shortly into his tenure as Shogun, he was greeted by Ryuji. The grand dragon gifted the shogun with a great boon of power. This power continued into his bloodline. He used it as a weapon as, over the next half century.
