Inferno, Primeval of Fire
Lord of Flame
Like its air counterpart, Inferno is somewhat nebulous in its form. Typically it lies dormant as a pool of magma inside the caldera of an active volcano. But when awakened it takes on several forms including a striding humanoid, a slithering serpent, or a soaring firebird. In each of these forms it is always ablaze with its titular inferno, engulfing everything in its path in searing flames. But while it could be easy to assume Inferno is simply destruction incarnate it is important to recall the necessity cleansing fire plays in the renewal and rebirth of wild ecosystems. When the blaze subsides life springs anew. Inferno’s presence may evoke a feeling that the world is ending, but it and its counterparts are ancient, and life continues to find a way in their presence.
