The Church of Conflagration

Worshipers of Inferno adhere to the principles of sacrifice and rebirth. Their eponymous holy site, the Church of Conflagration, sits on the slope of a dormant volcano. Here the clergy live and plot, but it is down in the mountain valley where the work is done. The repurposed, renamed Castle Ash hosts the Knights of the Cleansing Flame and their charismatic, enigmatic leader known simply as the Cindered Shade. This doomsday cult practices the typical proselytization needed to gather new members, but also serve as a mercenary band. A minor lord with deep pockets and an ax to grind can be well served showing up at a rival’s door backed by hooded knights with flaming weapons. Just be careful to read the fine print, the Order is said to practice human sacrifice, so be sure you aren’t next on the brazier.
