Ruin Knights

Amidst the ranks of the Draconic Kingdom's noble warriors, the Ruin Knights are a sight to behold. Born from the shadows of past battles and tragedies, these elite vanguard warriors are the embodiment of lessons learned from defeat, and the relentless spirit of rising from the ashes. Their name "Ruin" is not a symbol of destruction, but a testament to their resilience and the kingdom's capacity to rebuild stronger than before.   The Ruin Knights operate at the forefront of any major conflict, often sent into the most perilous situations. As the kingdom's vanguard force, they are trained to navigate through challenging terrains, break enemy lines, and create openings for the main forces to exploit. Their presence on the battlefield is both a tactical advantage and a morale boost for allied troops.   Skilled in both ranged and close-combat tactics, the Ruin Knights are adaptable warriors, making them invaluable during unpredictable and evolving battles. While they might not have the ceremonious roles of the Royal Knights or Dragon knights, their contributions are no less significant. When lords of the Draconic Kingdom find themselves in dire straits, it is often the Ruin Knights they call upon for swift reinforcement.   Their bond with each other is unbreakable, forged in the crucible of war and shared hardships. This bond transcends the battlefield, as they often gather to remember fallen comrades, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.   Within the Draconic Kingdom, tales of their valor are common among the citizenry. While children may dream of becoming Dragon Knights, it's the tales of the Ruin Knights' bravery against overwhelming odds that keep them awake at night, eyes wide in wonder.

Structure

1. Grand Marshal of the Ruins: The highest-ranking official within the Ruin Knights, responsible for the overall strategy, decision-making, and diplomacy of the order. Directly appointed by the king, the Grand Marshal represents the Ruin Knights in courtly matters.   2. Ruin Commanders: Each commander oversees a specific region or fortress within the kingdom. They are responsible for the local strategies, training, and resource allocation. There are typically five Ruin Commanders, each representing a cardinal point of the kingdom and the center.   3. Master-at-Arms: Positioned within each regional division under a Ruin Commander, the Master-at-Arms is responsible for the training and combat readiness of the knights in their jurisdiction.   4. Ruin Scholars: Given the nature of the Ruin Knights' role in restoring and preserving, Ruin Scholars are essential. They study ancient battle techniques, history, and the magic of the land to aid the order in its duties. They often collaborate with Thraindor for deeper understanding.   5. Knight-Captains: Leading smaller units within the order, Knight-Captains are veteran knights responsible for tactical deployments in skirmishes and battles.   6. Ruin Vanguard: The front-line warriors, often the first to enter a reclaimed area and face its dangers. They are trained extensively in combat and are experts in various weapons.   7. Support & Logistics Corps: Responsible for the supply chain, from ensuring the Ruin Knights are well-equipped to setting up camps and fortifications in reclaimed territories.   8. Ruin Squires: Young and aspiring knights under the mentorship of seasoned knights. They undergo rigorous training and serve in various capacities before being elevated to full-fledged knights.

They embrace inclusivity, valuing merit over lineage, and maintain a vast repository of knowledge, safeguarding the kingdom's history and strategic wisdom. Lastly, amidst their rigorous duties, they find solace in festivals that celebrate their shared heritage, achievements, and devotion to their land.
