The Koinos Palace

Purpose / Function

The Koinos Palace houses the royal family, the king's advisors, as well as some of the high ranking nobility. It is used for gathing in court, war meetings, and advisory meetings.

In the past it was mainly used as a place to live with court meetings and such being held in various buildings throughout the kingdom. However, due to the added rooms in the Palace the meetings started taking place in the Palace.

Alterations

Throughout the years the Koinos Palace has had several modifications. No one knows what the original building looked like, but many assumed it was built with wood. As the years went on the wood got replaced by rock, stone, and eventually metal.

The palace used to be completely white, but due to old age and natural phenomena the white paint has chipped in some places, revealing the metal underneath. The towers are made of stone along with the majority of the basement.

Many of these alterations to the palace have been done because it needed to be replaced or repaired. The only thing changed to make the palace look nicer was the paint addition.

Architecture

The Koinos Palace is one of the oldest structures in all of Draconis human history. It has seen countless battles, has been burned down, damaged, or rebuilt several times over. Because the Palace is constantly being updated and redone it seems to be in an eternal remodeling state.

The palace has a mixture of various styles of architecture. The front has large columns with a stain glass window above and a wide, wooden, intricately carved door. The towers are made with stone and have small windows with no metal covering it. Although some have larger windows with insect nets covering them.

The more modern walls are made with a mixture of metal and wood with the least modern ones being made with just metal, covered with a thing layer of painted wood.

However, one of the most interesting things about the Koinos Palace are the layers upon layers below the foundation. Because the Palace has been compeletly destroyed several times, of course, it had to be rebuilt. And they would they build on top of the original foundation, usually making another one.
