Lieutenants

Lieutenants are highly skills members of the military. It is either their natural talents or skills acquired through unknown number of combats; these skilled warriors are the peak combatants in the army; with the exception of the Captains. Often it is a Lieutenant that is promoted to the rank of Captain over of those that went to elite training, due to their nobility or wealth. It is one thing to be trained to be a great warrior and leader, it is another thing to prove it time and again on the battlefield. Lieutenants are given elite missions or are placed in charge of military divisions, always under a Captain.

Lieutenants are always in a group, under a Captain, though they each hold a lot of power and often will have entire divisions under them.

Equipment

Lieutenants are allowed access to the best equipment in the kingdom, including magical items.

Weaponry

Often magical in nature. Top of the line.

Vehicles

Whatever is needed or necessary.

Structure

Citizens are under Soldiers of the Military, Lieutenants are over Soldiers, Captains are over Lieutenants, and only the King is over Captains. Nobles or Citizens of high influence are considered above Lieutenants, but are unable to give them orders and may be harmed or imprisoned by Lieutenants, if it is for the good of the kingdom. These actions can be questioned by Captains and the King, which may reverse the action of the Lieutenant and punish them; if their actions are determined not to be for the good of the kingdom. Nobles and Influential Citizens may give tasks to Lieutenants; who them may decide whether or not to accept the task.

Tactics

Lieutenants relay on their own experience to dictate the actions of the soldiers under them, if any; though they will always communicate their strategies with other Lieutenants before combat, if possible.

Training

Unknown amount of combat experience; enough to ensure that those beneath them, beside them, and themselves all survive, or at least as many as possible. Even those more skilled than experienced, must be able to keep those around them alive to receive the rank of Lieutenant.

Logistics

Logistical Support

Those within the forces of the army, are supplied with the rest of the units. Those on special missions are supplied before the quest and can sometimes be provided additional assistance during the mission, if possible.

Upkeep

Lieutenants are provided anything and everything that they need; both in and out of missions.

Recruitment

Those that survive many combats, or have shown great skill, and have proven themselves able to aid those around them and make beneficial decisions are granted the rank of Lieutenant.

History

Those that prove their strength and use to the army are rewarded with opportunities and ranks; this has always been the way of the army. The useful are promoted, the useless are sent to front lines.

Historical loyalties

Lieutenants are loyal to the troops under them, the Captains above them, and the King. They can show affection and trust towards Nobles and Influential Citizens; but that can always change, based on the actions of those individuals.
