Þvotrans

Mlúkrok: Þvotrí

Þvotrans1 are large frogs, among the largest amphibians in Dragonía and the greatest on the Vorran Peninsula to the west, where they are one of the main predators in the region along with crocodiles and other reptiles.
They are crepuscular, being most active at dawn and dusk and, to lesser extent, the first few afters after nightfall, during which they roam the swamps or lake shores and swallow practically any creature whole that gets too close, including Enísas, various reptiles and amphibians. Around midnight, the þvotrans retreat into the waters either in the search for fish or to socialize, and spend most of the day resting.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

The reptilian Kroks inhabiting Vorran Peninsula, particularly around the Savrí Lakes, have long since domesticated þvotrans for food, not unlike how the Útels of Ela'k Forest raise Þaplú Salamanders as livestock, keeping the frogs in enclosures along the lake shores and feeding them scraps of meat and fish.

Cultural significance

Gluttonous Kroks are often likened to þvotrans, and Krok children often imitate their calls for fun or to tease others, while unruly ones are sometimes threatened to become frog food unless they behave.
