Jaarelic
Jaarelic is a general term for the languages spoken by the Jaarels underneath the Vúrakesen Mountains in western Dragonía. They represent one of two language families derived from Alalaric tongue, the other being the Elakic languages which includes Útelic and all the languages derived from it.
Each Jaarel language has two distinct dialects used by different castes, namely jaareklí and jaarúva. Jaareklí is used by the aristocracy and is characterized by complex structure and vocabulary, while jaarúva is a much simpler dialect used by the lower classes.

Writing System
Jaarelic is written using a syllabary of symbols derived from an early form of Útel script, which are generally more abstract than those used by the latter.
Geographical Distribution
The use of Jaarelic is mostly restricted to the cave systems under the Vúrakesen Mountains, and among Útels belonging to the zira-naa caste, the latter which are responsible for trading with the Jaarels. Kroks, while able to understand Jaarels, are unable to fully speak their language due to having beak-like mouths and thus use a creole language instead.
Vocabulary
Like Útelic, the majority of Jaarelic's vocabulary originates in Alalarían, but millennia of isolation in a unique environment has shaped Jaarel tongue in such ways that mutual intelligibility between them and the Útels is restricted to all but the most basic of words. On the other hand, a few words borrowed from the Kroks to the west are used in the western city-states.
