Jaþraaz Wolves
Jaþraaz wolves1 are the main predators in Kanix Forest in northernmost Dragonía, and are found throughout the region, both in the colder western part and humid Þaln'út to the east. They are the world's largest species of wolves, only Sönakad Wolves in Þrihakía and the Plain of Kings come close to reaching a similar size, and though they look similar, jaþraaz wolves have generally longer coat and smaller ears.
The Ameders inhabiting Kanix Forest hunt jaþraaz wolves for their fur, claws and fangs, and to keep them at bay during harsh winters when they are more likely to approach towns and cities in search for food. Most Ameders regard them with fear or at least suspicion, though in some city-states they are considered sacred to the goddess Kleþra, acting as her messengers, and are also associated with the afterlife in some places, due to their tendency to prowl around cemeteries.
