Sönakad Wolves
Sönakad Wolves1 are the largest canines on the plains of northern Dragonía, found primarily in the eastern part such as the southern Plain of Kings and especially Þrihakía. They are one of the main predators in the region, and though not nearly as dangerous as the top predator there, the avian Förns, sönakad wolves are more common.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Compared to the wolves of Kanix Forest to the north, sönakad wolves are somewhat smaller, sport a much shorter coat and have relatively larger ears.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They mostly hunt Rekan Birds, Erlen Lizards and their eggs, small rodents and whatever carcass they can find, often competing with scavenging Meðas for the latter.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Þrihaks sometimes wear sönakad wolf pelts to keep warm during the cool nights in Þrihakía, and warriors often adorn themselves with wolf teeth necklaces.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Sönakad wolves are generally found in the drier regions of the great plains of northern Dragonía, including the area south of Óv, Takakatys River and Fekai Lake and throughout Þrihakía between the Plain of Kings and the Southern Desert.
Their range used to include what is now the southern half of East-Óltrat on the western Plain of Kings, but are now all but extinct there.
