The Moonweaver

Alune is the god of moonlight and the autumn season, as well as the patron of illusions and misdirection. Widely worshiped in halfling and elven, and cultures, she is considered to be the deity of love, protecting the trysts of lovers with shadows of her own making. They say the sun is her decieved lover, and from his light does she shine, but those that say so have never beheld her. Left unrestrained, the sun burns skin, scorches the land, and blinds the eyes. Moonlight does no such thing. Like soft white petals it blankets the night, casting the world into mystical illumination. Never has it brought calamity or ruin, only the chance to see where once there was none. She is no different. Her mysterious radiance needs no other to shine. Those who work in darkness and trickery often ask for her blessing. While she is prone to illusions and trickery herself, she draws the line at manipulating people and taking advantage of them for one's own amusement. For even if she is a patron deity of thieves and tricksters of the dark, those whose prayers would seek to harm innocents with its trickery will see their wishes unanswered.

Depiction

The Moon Weaver’s depictions are as numerous as the myths and stories of her meddling with the unions of mortals. She is most often painted as a young woman with light-blue or pale skin and white hair, her body and limbs merely wavy silk strands of silver moonlight that caress and create the edges of the shadows around her.

Enemies

Enemies of the Moonweaver are few and far between, but the highest profile of the few are the Prince of Darkness Raum and the King Who Crawls Norog. Raum seeks to trick and deceive innocent souls from the shadows outside of Alune's moonlight, and the Ancient Fear attempts to imprison unfortunate mortals within endless labyrinths of their own thought.
