Farewell My Friend.
General Summary
After the fight with Hazequil, the Eldrich Griffon the party took note of Vinny's abscence when the smoke cleared. Moving quickly against the setting sun through the city, the party would clear the Garrison of the Hooded Lanterns and find that the entire unit was on high alert. Sammy would report that Vinny had recently tried to push through and had had an outburst and injured one of the soldiers. The Lanterns feared he had lost himself to the Delerium and had set scouts to either eliminate him or detain him depending on his condition. Continuing quickly through the outer city streets, the group would encounter a roving hoard of Dreg. These mutated humans seemed stagnant aside from a few that rummaged around looking for something. Maeve scouted ahead in her spider form, getting what she thought was an accurate account of the dreg roaming. Unfortunately a small number had been lying just behind the doors of the building Roth flanked and ambushed the group. As combat ensued, a new face appeared from the house nearest the hunting Dreg. A slender, tall and platinum blonde haired Elven man wielding a scythe appeared, cleaving his way through the horde. Once the group of enemies had been laid to waste, he would hear of the party's blight and in a very matter of fact tone tell the party their friend was probably dead, and that he was heading to town before sunset. Unable to find a better option, Y'srega insisted upon pushing through to Emberwood in search of Vinny through the night. When arriving in Emberwood Y'srega began to question his fellow Hooded Lanterns. Chasing details to the Skull and Sword Tavern, he would pay off the remaining Purple Roses in the tavern to tell him that Vinny had been through a scant hour prior and robbed them for coin to pay for his treatment of the Contamination. The party converged on the Chapel of St.Brena(?) and would find Flamekeeper Hannah, Flamekeeper Ophelia Reed, and the young daughter of Tobias Crowe awaiting them. Telling them they'd just missed Vinny some half hour ago, he'd been healed and fled the city without his hat and cloak. In his sudden exit, he did however find the time to write each of them a letter, penning his final goodbyes and wishes for each of them. With no other trace, he'd vanished on horseback into the night headed towards Caspia.
