The Sunstone Incident

The Sunstone Incident was a conflict between the Winter Court and the Summer Court during the important celebration of Winter Solstice . While it was later revealed that only a small faction of the Summer Court was responsible for the attack, for a time a full blown military conflict between the Courts seemed likely. The conflict was resolved non-violently, thanks to the efforts of the Thorn Court who both investigated the matter and acted as a negotiator between the two parties.

The Conflict

Prelude

The relationship between the two Court, Summer and Winter, had been known to be tense for decades , or even centuries according to some scholars, because of cultural differences as well as old grudges (the memory of the Fae is long), but both parties had agreed on peace. Some political marriages had also been arranged to seal the agreement, but not everyone had been satisfied with the situation. This dissatisfaction led to the rise of the Sunstones.

The Engagement

The attack took place during the Winter Solstice , the most important celebration of the Winter Court . The Sunstones, thought back then to be the soldiers of the Summer Court attacked during the Crowning of the Winter Prince, injuring many members of the Winter Court. Few individuals were sadly killed, some during the panic that followed the attack.
 
The Thorn Court arrived fast, however, no culprit was captured right after the initial incident.
