Oksha Ah'Shal

Escorted by a human man in armor, a small and thin figure draped in a flowing robe of dark gray examines the Temple's facilities for attending to and dressing the recently departed. The young Yuan-Ti woman's eyes are glazed over and milky white and around her neck hangs a pendant composed of a black onyx skull biting down onto a ring of keys. Although her regular sight as left her, Oksha has been blessed with the sight of another kind. Upon meeting Newt, she – with a trace of curiosity in her voice – claims that the "spirits of the dead" and the "spirits of the damned" cling to him. As an Acolyte of the Dead, Oksha serves the Goddess of Death, having been orphaned and raised in the Goddesses service and later trained in the House of Death.
Although Oksha is a loyal and faithful servant to the Goddess of Death, her faith does not seem to be blind or without doubt. Her faith may inform her decisions and her livelihood, but it certainly does not define her moral code or all of her life choices. Concerned about the reasoning behind Ah'Shal's ire, Oksha has sought to return and become a Priestess. Perhaps there are secrets in the House of Death that would be helpful.

Despite her ability to get around just fine, Oksha is almost always escorted by her guide and guardian, Markus. A human man who has served the House of Death for many years, he has watched and defended Oksha since she was a little girl. However, that doesn't stop him from picking on her every now and then. His faith and dedication to Ah'Shal is nothing to scoff at, but it is his desire to protect Oksha that may drive him to an early grave.
