Primus One

(a.k.a. The Being of Blood, the Never-Ending Sea of Crimson Red)

As a True Deity of connections and what flows between, but with no ability to create, this cosmic entity was drawn like a moth to a flame to the newly created world and lands of Dremora. While not necessarily a True Deity of blood, their desire to create a combined pool, a united whole, or a hive mind, per se, has taken the form of blood while within this world. When they arrived to the continent shortly after the pantheon's creation, they acquired many names: the Being of Blood, the Never-Ending Sea of Crimson Red and, most commonly, Primus One. While they enjoyed many years of an overflowing sea spread across the continent... the Purge has weakened them and nearly severed their tether to the world completely. They have come to desire this world, to covet it for their own. They await their only hope... a suitable tether... the perfect Vessel.

The True Deity of the Between

Primus One is a True Deity, unfortunately not blessed with the unique ability for creation. They are more akin to the nebulas that exist between celestial bodies – clouds of sparkling dust or gas that drift through space. They seek creation, but cannot create anything of their own. As such, they have followed in the cosmic "footsteps" of True Deities that do possess such an ability. Eons they have spent wandering in this way. Dremora is not the first world they have existed on... but they hope it will be their last, their home. For they have seen many worlds created and seen an equal number destroyed... perhaps this one will be different?
For they coveted the world and desired it for their own. May all be freed from the confines and the conditions of the soul... and may all be instead bound by the freedom and fluidity of blood.

The Purge & The Vessel

In the span of a few years, Primus One's foothold on the world went from an intricate root system to a few shriveled roots. The death of Ancient Two struck the hardest blow, for she had been the original tether point to the world for Primus One. The Purge was a bitter reminder. For as much as this world had become their home and as much as they desired for it to be theirs... it was not. For the world belonged to The One. For millennia, Primus One guarded what remained, too timid to attempt to reestablish their order and refill the Sea of Crimson Red. Should they lose what little tether remained, they feared they would never be able to return, lost amidst the vast cosmos.

To remain, Primus One sought to do what they had never been able: create. Perhaps if they hijacked what remained of The One's unique ability – the soul – they could create something uniquely of them – of blood – but also of the world. It would create the perfect tether, the perfect vessel for this world. Straining what remained of their current tether, Primus One began to aggressively pursue this goal. Many Dremorans died in the service of Primus One's goals. Drop by drop and body by body, Primus One attempted to manipulate the innate fabric of creation that The One wove into each mortal. They attempted to replace that underlying weave with the flow of blood. With each attempt, the blood running through the blood witches thinned. One by one they began to fall and yet Primus continued. They took bits and pieces of partial successes and wove them together into a body of their own making. When only 20 blood witches remained, the youngest 10 at Primus One's side... they succeeded.
And with a final stroke, Primus One wove the very essence of their being – the first drop of the Never-Ending Sea of Crimson Red – into the husk of a babe... and so Primus One sealed their fate.

Yet, even though the child's soul was not whole – an amalgamation of Blood and Soul – the child's eyes opened. It began to cry. It drew breath. Primus One had not only created a husk, a vessel... but true, creation of life.
May this Vessel bring forth the true Sea of Never-Ending Crimson Red, and from its death may the pantheon bathed in blood arise.
