The High Dremoran Council Chambers

The High Dremoran Council meeting space occupies practically the entire top floor of the Central spire of the Tower Citadel. Behind massive, ornately decorated wooden doors lies a large circular room with a tall, vaulted ceiling extending upward the equivalent of two floors. Large windows span all but the entrance and the far wall of the circular chamber. Marble pillars positioned between the windows support an ornate ring of carved and decorated wood and marble that rest halfway up the height of the chamber. Although the carvings are difficult to make out from a distance, closer inspection reveals all of the Council members who have served. A massive chandelier, primarily white and decorated with vibrant gold, extends from the ceiling, hanging even with the ring of carved figures. The chandelier resembles the roots of a great tree and provides a scattered array of lights.

Opposite of the entrance, there is an incredibly large (and old) painting that depicts one representation of The One in the center. A pair of hands emerge from the swirling galaxies beyond. The nails are painted black, bleeding to gray, and finally tipped in white. Around the barely visible wrists are a golden and silver bangle in the shape of an ouroboros. 13 gems hang from each bangle. The two hands cradle a continent, Dremora, surrounded by a vibrant ring of color. Beyond this central piece, are similar pieces that depict the pantheon of Dremoran gods:
  1. Tel'Rhea (top left corner) – An earthen mother carrying a child and holding a bushel of flowers, fruits, and grains
  2. Nacheevi (top left) – A rigid, dwarven figure, blindfolded and holding a set of scales in one hand and a staff in the other
  3. Oshozi (top right): A crouched male figure with the head of a white wolf, surrounded by beasts of the forest
  4. Elis (top right corner): An aarakocra with feathers tipped in the hues of the sun and, behind her, birds of prey fly across the sun.
  5. Lark (upper right): A male minstrel with flowing golden hair that vanishes into swirling sands. He holds a paintbrush and is surrounded by sculptures and paintings. A locust rests on his shoulder.
  6. Judas (lower right): A broad-shouldered human-looking man with slicked back strawberry blond hair dressed in a crisp orange tunic lined and embellished in gold. A four-leaf clover is pinned to his lapel.
  7. Ah'Shal (bottom right corner): A gaunt figure with a hood over most of her face. In one hand, she holds a staff and in another a set of keys. Her fingers are bony and she is wreathed in shadows.
  8. Ragna (bottom right): A woman composed entirely of fire with dark obsidian armor, wielding a dented stone shield in one hand and a serrated blade in the other.
  9. Therarask (bottom left): Long auburn hair covers the nude form of a woman adorned in rose petals and draped in silk. She holds a dove in her hand.
  10. Caliban (bottom left corner): A pale-skinned figure draped in a cloak of stars and face framed by flecks of scales dotted with more stars. The silver hair is hard to distinguish from the full moon behind. Tides lap at his feet.
  11. Carmenthia (lower left): An androgynous figure composed entirely of water with a staff of flowers and shadow in one hand and a tome in the other.
  12. Varoona (upper left): A merfolk with a blue and teal tail and long dark blue hair. Fins protrude from her forearms. She gazes into a large pearl held aloft in one hand.

Arranged equidistant from one another in a circle about 10 feet from the outer walls of the chamber are 12 larger marble and stone pillars. The pillars extend up to the arched ceiling. Four feet off the ground, the pillars have been carved to match the form of a variety of figures: the First High Dremoran Council. The corresponding original representative has been carved in the pillar behind the current member's seat around the Council table. The Grand Priest, the only one not represented by a pillar, instead has a chair in front of the large painting. This decision reflects that first, the Grand Priest holds only an informal or mediate role on the HDC, but also emphasizes the importance and power of the Grand Priest in religious affairs through their association with The One. Braziers and other various decor (sculptures and vases) are scattered about the room, positioned between the carved pillars.

In the center of the room, beneath the massive chandelier, is a 7-sided table made of dark wood and embellished with a mixture of silver and gold. A slot in the middle of the table opens to project maps or other related images (real-time illusions) to aid in discussion or debate. Other small compartments in the table release magical floating lights that hover near Council members who may need to write during evening meetings.

Around the table sit 13 chairs lined with either white or black cushions. The chairs are built of the same wood as the table and embellished similarly. Two chairs are places on 6 of the sides, with one chair positioned on the 7th side in front of the large painting. Beneath the table, the floor has been carved to accommodate pools of water, which are provided for any individuals of the more aquatic variety. Currently, no council member requires them.
