The University of Eredet
The largest university on the continent of Dremora is located at the heart of the city of Eredet. When the Tower Citadel began construction shortly after the founding of the High Dremoran Council in 502 YAR, the previous government building was converted to a center of education over the next two decades. In 523 YAR, the University was formally founded. Since it's founding, the University has expanded from the converted manor to various other buildings that house classrooms, labs, and libraries. Due to its size, the University is often considered the informal "13th" district or the 12th district to replace the fallen district of Judas. Although some buildings are older, the University received generous funding – including from the HDC – and so the old buildings are kept in a highly restored state while other buildings feature state of the art equipment and new technology.
General Information
If you're looking to acquire basic information on the University, the main building is the place to go. This building is completely open to the public and contains general information, is the starting place for organized tours, and is the home of the admissions department and career center. The main building also features several auditoriums and ballrooms for larger lectures (frequently open to the public and other university students) or social gatherings.
Notable Locations
While the original building and main hall are almost always open to everyone in the city of Eredet, there are locations within the University that are off limits to the general public. Occasionally, locations may be open on special occasions. Even students may find their access restricted to certain locations, especially if something is outside their field of study. Given that there is constant experimentation in the fields of the arcane, technology, and medicine... it's often wise to ensure that people don't wander where they are not supposed to be.
With the right connections, however, one can gain access to many of the interesting, internal locations of the University.

Fowell Observatory & Aviary
Positioned atop a tall tower amidst one of the green spaces of the University located near the District of Elios is the Fowell Observatory and Aviary. Floating lenses are littered about the room, drifting in seemingly random patterns as they reflect light in a myriad of patterns across the walls, floor, and ceiling. It is rumored that one of them belonged to Fi-Fi-Fema Fowell herself.
The most notable feature of the Observatory portion is not the lenses, but the massive metal scope. The mechanical contraption is currently positioned on a ring that rotates around the exterior of the observatory throughout the day. The scope is taking readings of the magical (arcane & divine) energy of the Barrier. The project has been monitoring the Barrier for nearly a century now... yet there has not been a single publication on the matter. Besides the main scope, various other scopes have been positioned to monitor the stars and other heavenly bodies as the observatory is a hot spot for Astronomy, Astrology, and Divination students. Star maps and charts can be found littered about the various tables, desks, and other workspaces. Artificers with a concentration or interest in the stars or navigation often find themselves here for classes and other projects.

In addition to the technology that is found here, there is a large amount of greenery. Directly adjacent to the observatory is a modest greenhouse. Various herbs and other plants are grown here primarily to provide materials for the researchers and students who frequent the tower. It also provides a nice respite for those who need a momentary break from the sometimes-irritating noises of the scopes rotating and clanging, the lenses occasionally running into each other, and the constant shuffle of the artificers as they tinker with things in the corner.
Students in the animal husbandry, herbology, and other natural sciences usually have access to at least the lower levels of the building. Those with a specialization in avian husbandry – with exception for all students from Elios or Oshiv'Ran – have access to the aviary, which is located at the top of the tower. It is a weird amalgamation that covers the observatory, moving with the rotating scope that monitors the Barrier. The aviary features a massive selection fo birds, both natural and obscure in nature.

The B. Faust Library
The main library of the University has grown so large that it has consumed an entire building on the campus. The B. Faust Library contains a vast variety of collections ranging from the history of Dremora to unconventional spell work to fictional works discussing great romances and great tragedies of heroes and heroins of Dremoran past. While much of the library is opent o public and general student body access, the more specialized, rare, or private collects are restricted access.
The center of the library is open to the entire four stories, allowing light to flow through the glass of the arched ceiling. In the center of this central space is a large statue of a human man wearing flowing robes of orange and gold. Behrooz Faust was a member of the original High Dremoran Council. He was a representative of Judas who, despite the misfortune he faced in life, dedicated a large portion of his personal funds to the University and the acquisition of knowledge that would later be the basis of the library.
The B. Faust Library is a popular place for students to come study, socialize, or have a mental breakdown. There are various open study spaces, semi-enclosed spaces, and private workspaces to cater to various needs. The first floor of the library is considered a "respectful volume" area where groups often work together in hushed tones. The top two floors are silence zones and individuals who violate these rules are magically silenced by floating clockwork "patrol orbs". Professor orbs, another type of clockwork contraption, can provide assistance in finding texts.

The University Departments:
- The Arcane Super Department encompasses a variety of magical departments (and associated majors), but is generally just a regulatory body within the University.
- The Lost Magical Arts – A small department housed within the History, Religious Studies, and Arcane departments. Dr. Valdove is housed within this department.
- Medical & Restorative Studies – generally encompasses individuals with a proclivity for healing types (both arcane, mundane, and divine). This department frequently sends students to the Medical Ward of Carmen'Két.
- Astronomy, Astrology, and Divination – a department housed within the Arcane department, though it includes a variety of individuals with no arcane talent.
- Engineering and the Mechanical Arcane – this department has close ties with the Nacheevi Technical Institute and often houses up and coming artificers and other inventors.
- Theater and Performance – a smaller department that has close ties with the city of Lark'Hal and the theaters of Therarask.
This is not a comprehensive list. The University of Eredet has almost anything you might want to study!
Notable People
Dr. Alayne Chord is a human researcher and assistant professor who runs the Observatory scopes. She is rather eccentric with her rainbow-streaked hair. While not the primary investigator on the project, she pretty much runs the show in the absence of the PIS (including Dr. Valdove). She’s a unique blend between quirky divination wizard and talented artificer with an eye for detail… despite living and working in a mess. To her, however, the mess is perfectly organized and exactly as it should be.
Dr. Harper Hawkins is one of the few bird-folk in the city of Eredet. Dr. Hawkins is a small owlfolk standing barely above 3 feet tall. They dress in functional work clothes and prefer to keep to themselves. As such, they often work the late evening or night shift tending to the greenhouse and the aviary. They are a professor in animal husbandry, biology, and other related studies with a focus on the avian creatures. They have a habit of moving silently and startling students. Given that they haven't changed this behavior in their 5 years a the University... one might wager they enjoy startling unobservant folks.
Lady Bahira Faust spends most of her time in her windowed office at the back of the first floor of the library and serves as one of the librarians. Lady Faust is a surprisingly young human woman with long blond hair and a relatively pale complexion. She is a direct descendant of High Lord Behrooz Faust and is quite proud of her heritage, considering herself one of the last living remnants of Judas. She is often dismayed that the people of Eredet – the students worst of all – seem to only see her as a pretty face. She may not have a doctorate to her name, but she is incredibly intellectual. Her position has been in her family for generations.... but perhaps there is more out there in the world?
Dr. Mendel Vivek-Tallis is a middle-aged, dark-skinned aasimar man with gold and silver markings around his face. He often wears is hair in an ornate style of dreads. Dr. Vivek-Tallis is one of the librarians and a linguist and arcane practitioner who generally assists students in language studies and their spell work. He is an incredibly intelligent man, but possesses the unique and important skill of being able to explain even the most difficult of concepts to almost anyone. He is prone to overextending himself and it is not uncommon for students to find him passed out over a bunch of scrolls or tomes. Students often discuss how while in the midst of speaking, Dr. Vivek-Tallis was simply no longer present, staring blankly at a wall or slumping slightly as he drifted almost immediately and suddenly to sleep.
