Vad, the Parasitic Stalker

The antagonist and rival of Ragna, the Goddess of War, is clearly not of human origins with flesh composed of writhing worm-like tendrils, pockets of dark yellow-gray pus, and teeth that seems to move and "swim" amidst the confines of his gaping maw. Does he come from beyond the Barrier? Or perhaps he crawled out from the unexplored depths, released by greedy miners? Regardless, where there stands a proud and confident warrior willing to sacrifice for the weak and elevate heroes... there, too, is a cowardly stalker that delights in being unseen, in ripping apart the weak, and dragging heroes down.

Vad requires a host to sustain himself, but is capable of traveling on his own for periods of time, remaining invisible as to avoid detection. Finding an optimal host is difficult and often results in Vad ripping himself out from within by either breaking through the throat, the spine, or the ribcage of his unfortunate victims. Prince Elect Romello proved to be a host of equally questionable origins, deceptive character, and could retain Vad in a dormant state for long periods of time with little harm. His ability to remain invisible allowed him to come and go from his host as he pleased... the only indication of his presence the random chittering noise, his foul stench, and the occasional blood worm that would peel off from his body...
