Shard Dimension
The Shard Dimension functions as something of a proving ground where being who wished to claim the newly activated shard had to pass through in order to claim it. It was created by Doctor Alistair Miles, who apparently had the backing of a shard bearer to aid him, in order to cull a great number of the powerful beings who would come to claim it.
Despite spending a great deal of time here, we know very little about how the dimension actually works. Although we call it a dimension, it exists at least in part on the standard material plane, and if it were to crash into the surface of Ekellos it would cause enormous destruction. On the other hand, seemingly all beings present had to reach it through inter planar travel, and Yash'ailaran detected numerous portals while inside it.
At some point near the end of the dimension's usefulness, someone broke into one of the control rooms and attempted to access some of the systems, although Lysander Miles was able to determine they were unsuccessful.
