Jailic

The Jailic language is a beautiful, honorific-based one made by the Alatash. Given that the Alatash live most of their lives high above the ground and in the clouds, their whole language has been shaped by the sky. Flying through the air, and able to control the water, the Alatash constructed the characters of Jailic to be built to mimic the wind and waves, and there are many swirls, twists, and wispiness of the clouds. Finally, Jailic greatly resembles the Japanese language with English twists. This plays out where Jailic uses characters over letters, like the Japanese language, but constructs words more similar to English. Since the Alatash are 1,350 years younger than the oldest race on Drimore, they still borrow many words and phonetics with the primary language of the Drimorians, Common, which is patterned heavily off of the English language.

Writing System

The Jailic language consists of most of the characters used within Common; however, there are key letters that are missing from the Jailic language, and they are:

  • V
  • X

Morphology

The characters of the Jailic language are highly patterned off of Japanese, English, and then they are altered to look more whispy. The Alatash, who made the Jailic language, often live in higher-up regions and are often surrounded by high winds and clouds. These common themes have certainly permeated through the morphology of their written language.
