Lolien
Lolien is a beautiful forest town in the Tritos Dominion, ravaged by violence and conflict. Consisting of a large force at odds with the Crown of Ania, Lolien is a shell of the safe haven it used to be. Violence is the currency of choice and is most of the work that can be found there.
The citizens of the city, who were nearly destroyed in the Witch Wars, refused to give up their homes to those who would lay claim to it; it is a fight that still rages for them to this day. Mostly built among the trees of the encroaching forest, beside the Ores, Lolien is both haunting and damaged.
The architecture of the town is a fusion of the elves' homeland style and the Tritos Dominion's more conventional homes. The elven Leng design harmoniously blends in with nature's provoking shapes, yet near the river downtown, Lolien looks like any other settlement found nearby. Currently, many of the homes are damaged and in a state of repair.
Geography
Built into the trees of the Emerald Wood and split by the Ores, Lolien is a city of those willing to work beside nature. In recent days the Crown's constructions have been less in line with the natural beauty, clearing large sections of land to build up homes and barracks, making Lolien a city of two parts.

Demographics
Lolien consists of a population of fighters and veterans who have left their homes in search of stability. The majority of the population are either humans or elves, but there is a large group of halflings as well. Crafting skills are still found here but often take a backseat to the warring factions vying for control over the city.
History
In 5,682 DA, King Caraconne Tritos initiated the founding of Lolien as a tribute to his own culture and an invitation to his homeland Leng. Upon the city's finished construction an elm tree known as the Arda Elowen was planted to mark the occasion. Serving as both a military outpost on the Ores, north of Dondarian, and also an essential hub for trading activities, Lolien's long history is one of commerce and warfare. For almost four hundred years Lolien served as an embassy for elves visiting the Tritos Dominion. It quickly became a favorite destination for those who did not wish to stay in the capital city of Ania. During the later years of King Tritos's reign, a large cathedral dedicated to the goddess Serithell was erected in Lolien in the King's honor. Currently, Lolien has become a city divided, ravaged by war. In 1 UE a witch named Sedatia corrupted many of the townsfolk and brought calamity to much of the region. During this period Lolien became the site for the final battle of the Witch Wars. The city has yet to recover from the damage done in that conflict and the scars can still be seen on the land from the violent clashes. The citizens fought hard against the outside forces that brought the city to heel, and they continue to do so. Civil Legion troops were mobilized to the city after the battle, seeking to restore order. Now, almost four years later, a military compound called Fort Tritos has been built outside of town. Citizens of Lolien want nothing more to do with the current regime of the Crown of Ania and seek to secede from the nation as a whole.
Government
Lolien falls under the rule of the King of Ania, leader of the Tritos Dominion. Regionally it is run by Baron Druceff who oversees the countryside. The Baron resides in Dondarian, leaving the local rule to Lawmaster Quentin Le'Cheff. There is currently a large contingent of Civil Legion troops in town attempting to restore order.
Crime
A contingent of elves and other survivors of the Witch Wars have formed a rebellion against the king's forces and are a constant thorn in the side those who are loyal to the Crown of Ania. There is frequent crime and infighting.
Defenses
Built among the trees of the Emerald Wood, Lolien has excellent natural defenses. A fully manned garrison of Civil Legion troops stationed at Fort Tritos makes Lolien one of the more well defended locations in the area.
Industry & Trade
The lumber industry of Lolien is the most important trade within and around the town. The locals are also known for their skill in crafting items out of wood such as furniture, tools, and weapons. In addition to lumber, the city has begun to raise bees in large quantities. Now a highly sought-after commodity, The Honeypot has become the largest producer of honey within the Tritos Dominion. Many of the other structures in town, such as the smithy and tannery, are still under repair due to recent conflict.
Guilds & Factions
The Crown of Ania. The King of Ania's will and strength in Lolien is led by the halfling noble Quentin Le'Cheff, of the Owens House Le'Cheff. A large contingent of Civil Legion troops, commanded by Sir Kyler Clemons, has been posted at the newly constructed Fort Tritos in an attempt to restore order to the city.
The Sticky Fingers. A theft and extortion-oriented guild that is comprised almost entirely of halflings. They are led by Bars Maclaski, the proprietor of the The Honeypot. The business is used as both a front for their nefarious operations and as a legitimate honey producer. The Survivors. A small group of warriors who survived The Witch Wars, led by Caraconne Lashi. None too happy with Ania's presence after the war, and receiving no help from the Crown until it was far too late, many of the town's survivors formed a rebellion intent on ousting the Civil Legion's presence from Lolien.
