She and her husband were previously adventurers, before settling down, becoming a tavernkeep and a blacksmith respectively, and starting a family with four children. Philomena herself, before meeting her husband, was a pirate who was betrayed by her captain and left for dead, but was found by her husband's old adventuring group who rescued her.
