The term “deities” encapsulates a significant number of entities with a wide variey of power levels and types. The term widely refers to any being that is worshipped by mortals, though there are some beings considered deities that do not fulfill this definition but are grouped with deities because there’s not really anywhere else that they fit. This umbrella is split into three smaller umbrellas: celestials, devils, and demons. Celestials are usually immortal beings that exist in the celestial plane and recieve their power by being worshipped by mortal followers, though the term celestial also includes angels, who are beings imbued with celestial power but get this power through a deity rather than themselves being one. Devils are creatures that recieve power not only through worship, but through sacrifice of what is considered “sacred”, such as blood, limbs, and life. Demons are beings that obtain their powers by leeching off of other divine beings or their followers. Each of these three categories contains more subcategories as well, with celestials being subdivided into greater, intermediate, lesser, quasi-, minor and demi-celestials, devils being subdivided into archdevils, greater devils, lesser devils, and devilspawn, and demons subdivided into greater and lesser demons, as well as demonspawn. The categories that compose celestials are, for the most part, solely divisions of power - power being based on number of followers. Greater celestials are worshipped across all of Dulūn and are well-known even by those who do not worship them, while quasi-celestials are worshipped by only a handful of people, sometimes even approaching only double digits of worshippers. Demi-celestials are unique in that they are beings born of a mix between mortal and celestial blood. Additionally, there are low-level celestials who are not worshipped as deities, known as minor celestials. These include creatures like angels. The categories of devils not only correlate to their amount of worshippers, but also to their more social status in the Nine Hells. Archdevils are the nine greater devils who rule each of the Nine Hells, while greater devils are all of the other devils that are worshipped my mortals or otherwise have cults in their names. Lesser devils are too numerous to count or list, and are instead grouped by type; barbed devil, pit fiend, etc. Devilspawn are tieflings or other beings that are part devil and part something else. Demons only have two main categories, the first of these, greater demon, referring to demons that have greater influence and power than the majority of demons, and lesser demons referring to the countless inhabitants of the Abyss with not much noteworthy about them. Demonspawn are tieflings or other beings that are part demon and part something else. Archfey are similar in power to lower-level deities, somewhat akin to lesser celestials or greater demons, but that majority of their power is specific to their plane of existence, the feywild. Some of them are still worshipped, or choose to be warlock patrons, to extend their reach into the material plane, but none of the archfey have an amount of power on the material plane that would constitute the title of deity.
