The current ruler of House Kemic , Edal Kemic is a shrewd politician who has made significant use of the wealth her house has reaped from mining the spice on Arrakis to influence the Landsraad. Despite her looks, the archduchess is well past her 70th year thanks to the spice and remains one of the most desired single leaders of the Landraad. She has been careful, though, as she has ammassed power and wealth, not to upset the Empror or his power base.
