Tattoo Inks

Inks are typically made by mixing natural dyes or pigments from plants or insects together with a base made of hide glue or gum arabic. The ingredients used are easily found in nature, and artists will often take note of locations of berry bushes or a colony of prismatic beetles, where they may find their next source of colour.   Specialty inks may also carry unique properties, reacting to the presence of certain creatures or imbuing the inks with the force of the elements. Given the special nature of the materials, these inks usually take longer to make, and their ingredients are more difficult to find.
