Thri-Kreen

Basic Information

Anatomy

Thri-kreen are by far the most alien of the Sapiens. They have a long torso with four arms. They have four eyes, antenna, and a set of mandibles. Their legs are designed for jumping and are very clumsy when walking. They are covered with a hard carapace that acts as their skeleton to finish the look. By far, though, the most alien thing about them is they only have one sex.

Biological Traits

Their mind and body do not allow thri-kreen to manipulate Mana. However, their mind excels with Psionics.

Genetics and Reproduction

A clutch is between six to eighteen eggs. They will hatch about two months after. Clutchmates will always be able to recognize each other and are the closest things they have to a blood family.

They prefer the heat of the deserts and wastelands.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Thri-kreen prefers a fresh kill above all. As their nomadic nature and knowing the worth of the Skyreach Sun Flower. A hive will often harvest and sell most parts and keep the Cheena Seeds as this is an alternative when a fresh kill is not available.

Biological Cycle

After reaching adulthood, once every five years, a Thri-kreen will lay a clutch of eggs. Three months before they ovulate, they feel the changes going on inside their carapace. At this time, they will make sure they are within a large tribe for the blessed day.

Behaviour

They are fiercely loyal companions. Once a Thri-kreen decides you are part of their hive, they will protect them with everything they have.
An individual's hive starts with their cluchmates and starts to expand from there.

Social Structure

Thri-kreen see all members of their hive as family. Who a particular individual chooses to be in their hive is their choice. Most of the time, it will be one of the multiple Thri-kreen tribes found throughout the wastes of Dungar.
With such a short life, it is not uncommon for an individual to belong to many hives.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Their dual set of eyes allows them a tremendous advantage. Their compound eyes don't seem to miss a single thing. Their forward-facing eyes see into the Ultraviolet spectrum, allowing them to see a different world than others. In addition, their antenna can detect the slightest vibration around them.

Naming Traditions

Their given names are just like the rest of their language: a series of clicks and whistles. Their friends of different species will adopt a nickname for their compatriots.

As there are no males or females there are none.

Courtship is a foreign concept to the Thri-kreen.

The hive is everything to them.

Technology does not make sense to the Thri-kreen their are still stuck in a level at the Iron Age (4).

Thri-kreen is the only language they can speak. Many learn other languages but can only understand and not speak the language.

Common Dress Code

Thri-kreen do not believe in clothing. They do however, see advantages and use things like harnesses, bags, backpacks, and the ilk.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Thri-kreen are very nomadic by nature. Even the members of Defenders of the Grove will not settle down in the town and prefer to stay out in the wilds hunting and scouting.

The only custom that the Thri-kreen partake that the is their own is the Clutch Tournaments.

History

The past of the Thri-kreen remains very much a mystery. What's known is that there were many of them at the Council of the Seven. They are also one of the original species of the People of the Sun.
Before this time, there is more conjecture than fact known.
