Machina Muerte

Machina Muerte is one of the major factions in Industria, and the biggest criminal faction in the City of Steam. These ones are considered the greatest enemies to the Mechanites, and it is often heard of the conflicts spawned from it.

Structure

The Machina Muerte functions almost like a cult, and follow the Supreme Mechiller, who is chosen by the writings of the organizations original founder.

Culture

The faction has the express goal of destroying every machine on Industria, and the greater goal of making the city fall out of the sky. They do not take any particular care who is harmed, or perishes, along the way. When on duty, all members of the faction must wear a uniform, that being a blue suit bearing the symbol of the faction, a broken cog, and a see-through mask that covers the entire face, bearing the likeness of a reptilian eye.

Assets

They have many mock up machines they have built to support them. If the public knew about these machines, the faction's hypocrosy would become clear and they would a large following. Said machines are mostly one person vehicles, adorned with spikes or stolen parts of constructs such as flamethrowers. They also will use stolen devil rides. Outside of modes of travel, they also have a lot of funds from selling scrapped parts to people on the docks, who then go down to the surface to sell to whoever. They then use these funds to purchase armor and armory from the AAA, their chief suppliers. They don't have one building, instead gathering in the houses of members, or in forgotten parts of the city's drainage system.

History

The Machina Muerte were founded by Syndarus the Revenant roughly four years after Industriae's founding. Supposedly it was exactly one month after Syndarus's death, however that is unknown. The Machine Muerte first started as a small anarchist, unnotable to the Mechanites. However, when KI-NA joined and they cast shatter on the Universidad Ignenii, the Mechanites began to take notice. With every house stacked in the Common's Slice, more joined the cause of the faction. However, most don't know the faction's purpose is to take down the city, not just the Mechanites. This very badly kept secret is effectively the foundation of the Machine Muerte and always has been since its founding, built on misunderstandings and mania.

Rumor of the Cog: It is said that most news about any struggle against the Mechanites labels the opponents as part of the Machina Muerte.
