The Commerce Guild

The biggest banking guild in Industria, and possibly the biggest in the prime material plane. They are known primarily for their gold plated buildings and general extravagant appearence. However, they are probably more feared by the general populous than the Machina Muerte. The Commerce Guild collects their dues, and they are deadly serious about it.

Structure

The Commerce Guild is technically ran by the owners of the major banks it controls. However, these have all been bought by Na'zarth, the headmaster of the most prominent university in Industria.

Culture

While most of the clerks and such employees think they are doing good for the city, the executives are rather intent on gathering debts to improve profit. They particularly take their ideas from the Planar Trade Consortium.

Public Agenda

To give out loans and provide a place to store money, accessible from anywhere in Industria.

Assets

Gold. Lots and lots of gold. Their buildings are literally gold plated. They also have access to a personal arsenal of constructs they use as security and debt collectors. Folks know to fear when the Wheelers appear.

History

The Commerce Guild is a more recent edition to the factions of Industriae, only first notably appearing six years after Industrae's founding. It was created from the gathering of banks (all funded by Na'zarth), who conglomerated into one big collective. However, after some incidents with sending modified modrons after debtors, the guild gained a reputation among Mechans as only a last resort for the desperate, or a trap for scholars hoping to join the academy. Due to its youth among the factions, it hasn't made allies or enemies among the factions.

Military

The Commerce Guild has an arsenal of constructs that serve as enforcement for their security and collections process. These constructs are large in size and appear as small modron spheres with large wheels attached to the sides instead of arms and legs, commonly refered to as Wheelers. The Wheelers are effectively modified modrons, possessing the ability to inately cast scorching ray at will. While they aren't part of the modron hivemind anymore, they possess their own hivemind that works the same way.
