Material Plane

The Material Plane (also known as the Prime Material Plane) was the plane in which Dünya and the surrounding cosmos existed. The phrase "Prime Material Plane," or simply the "Prime," was generally used by beings from other planes in the multiverse, and "prime" was used by the same beings to refer to the inhabitants of the Material Plane.

History

The Material Plane was created by İlk Tanrı as a place for the gods and goddesses to create their own beings after he had demonstrated his creations in the Feywild. The Feywild, traditionally known as The First World, is a predecessor of the Material Plane, created as a demonstration of the concept of a 'Material Plane' and then directly overwritten by the plane as it exists today.

Cosmography

A variety of different models for the cosmology of the Planes have been proposed over the years, with the most popular current theory being the World Tree model. The Material Plane is considered one of the Neutral Planes, analogous to the trunk of the World Tree.
The Material Plane is overlayed with the Feywild, which could be accessed through seeming chance. There is disagreement with how exactly this happens, but naturally occuring portals between the two realms appear only during full moons, although their location or even existence on every full moon is unknown. It is also unknown where these portals appear. Due to the fact that the Feywild appeared as a 'heightened' version of the Material Plane, it was relatively easy to accidentally pass through these portals unintentionally before being stuck in the First World.
The Material Plane is also somewhat connected with the Shadowfell. This is through the Ethereal Plane which permeats the entirety of the Material Plane and acts as a connection to the afterlife.
