The Phoenix Twins

The Phoenix Twins are the Sun Phoenix and the Moon Phoenix. They are the God Beasts of Life and Death, Light and Dark, and together represent the balance of the natural world and the cycle of life.
It is said the Phoenix Twins live in perfect harmony, flying across the sky in tandem, never crossing paths. Both Phoenix are said to bring good fortune, the Sun Phoenix blessing new life and the Moon Phoenix blessing those passing away.
Of all the God Beasts, traditions regarding the Phoenix Twins remain across Dunyalem. It is still considered better luck to give birth during the daylight hours, with those born at the peak of midday being referred to as Phoenix Born, something many consider a great blessing. The Moon Phoenix is invoked in most culture's death and funeral rites, and it is not uncommon to find statues depicting the God Beast in graveyards and tombs.
