Zafka

Zafka is the oldest city and civilisation of Dunyalem. Despite being deep in the desert of Southern Djakalia, Zafka found itself ahead of the curve in developing agriculture, architecture, and culture. Zafka began as a single city and eventually spread to become a region comprising much of the south of the continent. Considered the first civilisation of the Classical Age, it is not surprising that the first recorded gods of the Age appeared in Zafka. The city soon became a deeply faith-based culture, with grand temples, statues, and other structures built in worship. Zafka is well known for these constructions, most of which were designed by loxodon architects known as the Great Builders. Zafka also originated many aspects of civilisation that are now used throughout Dunyalem, including the modern calendar and the common tongue. Zafka spent much of its history under attack, facing the brunt of the attacks from the Yakarti Horde. Eventually, with the aid of Al-Dhorma and Lungoya, the Horde was defeated and Zafka was left to prosper in peace, allowing for its expansion across the South. Today, Zafka is best known as the epicentre of divine studies in Dunyalem, as well as for its expansive libraries. Zafka is led by the Makoud royal family, who act as counsel to the Kingdom's monarch.
