The Djakali Kingdom

The Djakali Kingdom is the oldest unified nation in Dunyalem. The formation of the Kingdom represents the start of the modern calendar, and the Kingdom's calendar and common language are used throughout Dunyalem. Prior to unification, much of Djakalia was divided between two nations, Zafka to the South and Al-Dhorma to the North. These two nations were under constant attack from the Yakarti Horde, a nomadic army that controlled the Western plains. The Horde was eventually defeated when the isolationist Lungoya City agreed to aid the other two nations, trading their mithril technology for an alliance, placing the leader of Lungoya as the King of the newly unified Djakali Kingdom. After its defeat, the Horde disbanded, eventually reforming as a trading group: the Yakarti Caravan. While Lungoya City's monarch still rules the Kingdom, they are expected to take counsel from the leaders of Zafka and Al-Dhorma. Additionally, the leaders of both the Yakarti Caravan and the city-bazaar of Karsikal have a large influence on the Kingdom's politics.
