Aewin (Old Elven; eh - win)
Root language for Aetherin {Southern Elven} and Letherin {Northern Elven} before their split. It isn't spoken by any living culture and is as such considered a dead language.
Aetherin {Southern Elven} more closely resembles Aewin and as such, anyone literate of it is more likely to be able to parse meaning from Aewin texts. Anyone who knows Aetherin {Southern Elven} or Letherin {Northern Elven}, but not Aewin, may make a linguistics check to understand/read Aewin. The base DC for this is 15 for those literate in Aetherin {Southern Elven} and 20 for those literate in Letherin {Northern Elven}. The DC might increase if the speaker has a heavy accent, a book's text is heavily damaged, the text or speaker's subject is especially complex, or similar reasons as determined by the GM.
