Burl

Burl was once an elegant city; the seat of the Oakenhart family and the largest city in Virendra (now called South Terima). The city had stood for over a thousand years, but in the First Orc War was razed and desecrated. Now the ruins reek of dark magic, and undead souls stalk the crumbling streets.
The fall of Burl paved the way for House Terim to annex Virendra, in exchange for routing the Orc invaders. The then king, Thaddeus Oakenhart had seen his army destroyed at Burl, and submitted to Teriman rule. This earned him the nickname of The Craven Crown.
