Dholloumora

Deity of Gemstones

According to legends of creation that speak of the time before First War, Dholloumora quietly enjoyed the making of beautiful things, but had not the power to overcome the transience of being. Before the outbreak of War, U'Dur partnered with Dholloumora, granting access to the great swathes of the Material Plane under their watch as a seeding bed for beauty to rival the flora and fauna of the wilds. Through this, gemstones were seeded throughout the bones of the world.   Dholloumora is often referred to as the patron of the dwarven people, having partnered with U'Dur to create them.

Aspects of Dholloumora

Craft

The Many-Faceted Portfolio: Aesthetics, Dedication (inc. Marriage) As Craft, Dholloumora is depicted with ferocious beauty and eyes that glow like hot coals as she creates her masterpieces - from great weaponry to intricate jewellery; the work of a Dholloumoran devout will aspire to inspire. Form is principal component of function.

Wealth

The Cabochon Portfolio: Money, Trade As Wealth, Dholloumora is a guide to entrepeneurs and traders. The wealthiest banks are deeply rooted in Dholloumoran worship, and often are housed in the same structures as temples.

Greed

The Envious Hoarder Portfolio: Aesthetics, Money, Theft As Greed, Dholloumora is both reverred and reviled for the pursuit of individual material benefit above all else.

Dholloumora's Divine Creation

Some theologians propose that the seeding of gemstones itself was the Divine Creation of Dholloumora's ascension, given the lack of an agreed artefact fitting the description. This seems contrary to the usual understanding of Divine Creations - although some argue it is a result of U'Dur's heavily-felt hand in Dholloumora's ascension. The more widely agreed explanation is that Dholloumora's Creation was a work of incredible majesty, that would no doubt have been coveted by both Divine and mortal hands. The item was subsequently either destroyed or stolen. Both raise questions as to the importance of a Divine Creation for the continued prosperity of a God after the act of Creation, as by Dholloumora weilds power still.
