The Sword Mountains
The Sword Mountains are a mountain range to the northwest of Waterdeep on the Sword Coast. Notable mountains in the range include Starstruck Mountain, which at one time had supposedly been struck by a falling star, and what looks like a large bite was taken out of the side of the mountain. The mountain range is home to the Order of Anzu, a sect of druids and rangers dedicated to protecting, raising, and training the gryphons that reside in these mountains. It is also home to a war camp of orcs, led by Magog, that routinely sends raiding parties to fight against the order, steal their supplies and kidnap gryphons. It was once home to a dwarven mythral mine, but it appears that the mine has been boarded up very recently. It is unclear whether it has been abandoned, or if the dwarves have dug themselves in very deeply. The sword mountains are also home to various types of giants. Currently, a floating city that is home to storm giants has appeared almost directly over Starstruck Mountain.
