An Encoded Letter to Lux Brumalis
Fathers,
I know it has been far, far too long since I have written, and I deeply regret that.
I believed I was overlooked in Lux Brumalis. I felt rudderless and ineffective, unneeded. After what happened to I couldn’t deal with the pain My life I needed a purpose, and that purpose called me here to Crypha. For some time, I’ve felt like I found it. I know I don’t belong here, but it’s where I’m meant to be for now.
I have no doubt that Vrinn has written to Dad already and revealed my secret
I have a child here. Her name is Aurora, and I thought at first she was safer apart from me, but I found it impossible to ensure her safety from afar, so I gathered her close. Now, she’s in more danger than ever being so near to me. I am terrified for her safety. Please, send soldiers to retrieve her from our encampment and take her to be at home with you both. I can think of no safer place for her than Lux Brumalis. I am requesting a detachment to aid in her extraction from Crypha and safely deliver her to Lux Brumalis, where I would consider it a great favor to me if you were to take her into your care.
She cannot be escorted by either the Athanori or Dalvathian armies. They are equally as likely to be set upon by rebels as Cryphan forces. They are not welcome here, and I’m sure you can surmise why.
I know that I have been a terrible daughter. I know that I ask much, but they have struck out at me us already, and she is my heart laid bare she would be a very strategic hostage to claim. I cannot allow it while I draw breath.
We shall maintain our foothold here while I await your response.
Walk in the light,
Phaedra
